The Key of Envy Description

Trained by bloody hibiscus (bloody_hibiscus@yahoo.com)

Name - Janus

Age - 32

Physical Description - A vision of almost total perfection. He rests  at the balanced height of 5'7" - not to tall, not too short - with a
near-perfect build that's neither too slim nor too heavy. His hair is  perfectly straight and never in disarray, the corn silk-blond locks
reaching to his chest in the front, and just above his tailbone in the back, often held in a loose braid. His skin is the color of  fresh, dark cream, soft and silky to the touch. Often he dresses in silk shirts and translucent pants of soft pastel shades that both hang off his body flawlessly, with bracelets, rings, necklaces, and ankles causing his every movement to give off a gentle, silvery melody. His ears are almost elven in their points, lined with numerous earrings that line his china-doll features and accent his face nicely. From his back protrude wings that seem only half-real, a combination of dragonfly color and fragility, with what look to be semi-transparent branches and leaves of a weeping willow braided and woven loosely about them. His almond-shaped eyes are angled slightly and the irises are a soft shade of crimson, faded and slightly glassy due to his blindness. Around his neck is a slim, metal collar, lined with softly glowing sealing runes.

Background - Janus is the half-breed bastard child from the joining of a human and a wood nymph.  His mother, a noble woman, had been acquainted with a young male wood nymph for a short time before he was able to woo her into his bed. Shortly after, his mother learned that she was pregnant. Shocked and humiliated, she did her best to hide it, but her family did eventually find out. She was locked away in the upper chambers of the mansion so she wouldn't bring shame to her family. From there she lived her nine months, and eventually gave birth to a baby boy, with his father's face and wings and his mother's hair and eyes. Despite the resulting decline in her
health, she was overjoyed. She cared for him until his fifth birthday; neither of them were ever allowed to leave the tower, and thus Janus only knew of the world outside what he could see through the chamber window. On his fifth birthday, his mother finally passed away, her health failing her. The day after he was hauled down from the upper chambers along with his mother's corpse, and an officer from the Palace came to examine him. He was not allowed to attend his mother's funeral.

Even in early childhood, Janus was a vision of perfection. The Palace agreed to purchase him; he spent a week in his previous home as they readied proper accommodations for him. The entire week was filled with nothing but abuse and hate from his relatives, who were all quite jealous of his beauty, his intelligence, and refined personality; one of his uncles accidentally blinded him with boiling water to his eyes. The Palace guards eventually came and retrieved him; because of the response he seemed to provoke in all who met him, he was dubbed the Envy Key before being locked away into his room. He has been there ever since.

Personality - Early in life, Janus learned to disconnect himself from the world to keep himself safe. He seems to have an almost sort of apathy to him; though, the more he is hurt or sad, the more he tends to smile to hide how he feels. Inside he has reached a point of utter
hopelessness, now very sure that he somehow deserves to be treated cruelly because of his appearance, which he loathes. He likes to recite old fairy tales to himself that he remembers from his childhood when he is alone, to comfort himself.

Temperament - Very pleasant, but detached. He speaks in a very polite, proper way, rather like royalty. He never talks about himself or his past, instead trying to keep his Master talking and pleased. He rarely, if ever, seems to respond to anything without a perfect
sense of calm about him. His mask of calm seems almost unbreakable.

Experience - He is mostly used as a slave for abuse and rape. Masters will take their personal frustrations out on him, spurred by his
unachievable perfection. Even those with the intent to be kind towards him have broken down and abused him in the end; even the kindest of people turn jealous and bitter in his presence. Surprisingly, he is one of the most popular Keys of the Palace; perhaps because of his stress-relief potential.

Likes/Dislikes - Likes stories, birds, insects, flowers, rain, music, Gilda, reading (his books are in Braille), dancing, memories of his mother, brushing his hair, being alone. Dislikes pain, loud noises, sex as he has only had it through rape, physical contact, himself, his father, his mother's family, the Palace, death, crying, feeling his emotions, how others see him.

Quirks - He has the nervous habit of twisting cloth in his hands,or clawing at his arms. When very depressed in front of a master, he
becomes all-smiles and pleasantries. He often brushes his hair when in a good mood.

Environment - His room is fairly large, with an adjoining bathroom. The main room's walls and ceiling are painted to resemble a forest, for his wood nymph heritage. Along the walls are various chains and "toys" often used on him. The bed is large and circular,
with deep green satin sheets and matching green and black satin pillows with leaf patterns. There is a black wardrobe against one wall
containing all his clothes. In the corner near the door is a gilded birdcage, with an exotic black bird with long, luxurious tail and head feathers, named Gilda. The bathroom walls are painted to match the main room, with a large black tub sunk into the floor, green and
black towels, and leaf-patterned tiles on the floor. The main door is large and black with branch and leaf patterns lining the sides.
