The Velvet Key Description

Trained by Tenchi Kaze (ecdearden@shaw.ca)

Name: Koyo

Age: 19

Species: Wolf boy! Wai! ^_^

Hair: Koyo has silky ankle-length black hair with one white streak in the back that runs down the entire length of his hair. He keeps it down most of the time, delighting in the feeling of its velvety softness flowing around his body. His eyes are light blue, contrasting against his Indian brown skin. Shorter than the average member of his species (normally they are quite tall.) He is slim, bordering on scrawny but not quite that. And of course, what would a wolf boy be without his little extras? Where normal human ears would be, there are none. His ears are furred wolf's ears, and are higher up on his head than normal human ears. His fingernails are a mix of normal human nails and canine claws, and his teeth a much sharper than a normal human's. Flowing from the bottom of his spine and just above his rump is a luxuriously furred black and dark gray wolf's tail. His feet are an aesthetic mix of human and wolf as well, though short silky fur grows on the feet unlike his bare hands.

Other: Has a small tattoo on the left side of his chest of a white pentagram star, which contrasts greatly against the coloration of his skin and hair. He has had the tattoo for as long as he can remember, but has no idea why. As far as he knows, it's just there, though sometimes he can feel it get hot on his chest and he has no explanation for why this is. In addition, just as mysterious as the tattoo, his hair simply will not be cut. Whenever people try to shear it off, it grows back in an instant to its prior length. It also never tangles, for which Koyo is thankful. He also cannot speak human language very well, so he does not try that often. Oh he knows the language all right, it's just that his words are a little hard to understand for a normal speaking person because of his more canine vocal chords. This is much better than the rest of his species in terms of speaking human language though, since his kind much prefer to communicate through a complex system of growls, body language, scents, etc.

Clothing: Most of the time, he would prefer to go without clothing. Koyo prefers as little clothing as possible, which normally means nothing at all. ^^;; Though, if he has to, he will settle on a sleeveless white top and a loincloth.

Personality: Koyo is probably the least like a normal member of his species as you can get in terms of personality. Normally, his kind are aggressive, warrior-like, and admittedly rather primitive. Instead of that, Koyo's demeanor is polite and demure, and shows clear signs of intelligence such as his mother had. He is also an excellent actor, and was able to put that to use, pretending to be more like the majority of his kind if he needed to back when he lived with them. However, he often did not wish to do this as he is much more comfortable being himself. He was scorned by almost all the members of his group for being the way he is, but he did not care. He learned from his mother a long time ago that you don't have to worry about what others think of you as long as you think well of yourself. Koyo also enjoyed (and still does) many activities that his fellow wolf-humans do not, such as reading (well if he can't speak the language, he might as well read it) and drawing. Though he prefers mainly meat like the rest of his kind, he will eat other kinds of food that they would normally refuse, such as vegetables, fruit, eggs, etc. But no chocolate! Poisonous to doggies! ^_^ He also has a strange fetish for the material velvet, which is one of the reasons his trainers deemed him to be the Velvet Key in the first place. Moving into the bedroom, Koyo becomes the perfect submissive, giving into whatever a Master desires. Though he does not like pain very much, he will go along with it if it is what the Master wants.

Background: Everyone in the pack knew from Koyo's birth that the boy was different from what would be called the ideal male of their species. As with all "weakling" babies born, he was sentenced for sacrifice in a volcano. However, the day before his execution, the mysterious white pentagram tattoo appeared on his chest as well as the white streak in his hair. No one knew what to make of it, but everyone was so spooked by it that they allowed Koyo's mother to keep him. He grew up under the hatred and bullying of other wolf boys his age, and that is why his mother taught him to not have fear of being himself. As his hair grew longer, the people in the village demanded he get a haircut so that his feminine looks wouldn't be quite as apparent, but it just would not happen. Whenever an attempt was made to cut Koyo's hair, it always grew back. It continued to grow until it reached his ankles where it stopped. Just stopped. When he was 16, his mother died of breast cancer and all the people who hated Koyo jumped at the chance to be rid of him. Still scared of actually killing him (who knows what the mysterious tattoo and streak could mean?), they sent him off to the Palace where he was immediately put into training as a Key.

Room: Koyo's room consists of one big main room, a smaller, loft-like room above it, and a trapdoor in the floor of the main room that leads to a bathroom. The main area is huge so that there is lots of room to move around in. The whole room is round and on virtually every part of the room's circumference are large colorful cushions to sprawl out on (the outer fabric of the pillows being, of course, velvet.) Every now and then a servant has to come into the room and clean up the cushions, because, as much as he hates it, the parts of Koyo's body that have fur do shed. ^^;; For this reason, the floors are hardwood rather than carpeted. In the very center of the room is a huge bed. The comforter and sheets are all light colors like white and yellow (you know how dark colors always seem to attract more animal hair. ^^;;;;) and, as a result, the walls are done in similar colors to match.

As said before, there is a trapdoor in the floor that leads to a bathroom. This trapdoor is a few meters off to the left side of the bed, and opens when you pull up on a gold painted handle in the floor. The door is marked with a thin crimson square (so people can find it more easily). The trapdoor opens to a stepladder that leads down to the not-very-spectacular bathroom, which is basically just an average sized room done entirely in white. The only things to be seen in this room are the toilet and the bathtub (just big enough to fit two).

The loft-like room is reached from a stepladder as well, this one reached by pulling a special cord on the wall, which causes it to come down slowly. Up in this tiny room is the suite's only window, which is quite big in comparison to the size of the room. On nights when the moon is full, you can get a perfect view of it from this window. And though Koyo can try all he likes and with all his strength, he can never overcome the temptation to go up to the loft and howl at a full moon, even if there's a Master staying at that time. Animal instinct I guess. *sweatdrop.* The walls are done in a mellow cream, and a few pictures of wolf pups adorn the walls. Off to one side of the room is a large shelf full of novels, which Koyo enjoys greatly.
