The Nadir Key Description

Trained by Tenchi Kaze (ecdearden@home.com)

Current Name: Hanerisu (means 'wing fracture')

Original Name: Haneyoukou (means 'wing sunshine')

Age: Looks 18, but he never ages, so you can't really tell

Physical Information: Hanerisu is 5' 5'' and has a fairly slim build. He could almost be called frail, but that's not quite it. He is quite pale, but not sickly pale. Just creamy, lustrous, pale. His eyes are an unnerving color: gold. Most of the time, his eyes are emotionless and distant, but they seem to shimmer sometimes when he seems to be thinking deep, heavy thoughts.

Hanerisu's hair is wavy, whitish pink, and goes all the way down to the floor, and then some! It is possible to wrap his hair around his form like a small toga, and nothing will remain uncovered! Most of the time, his hair is kept down, making for a very awe-inspiring sight. However, during sex, he can braid it into a rope (almost like Rapunzel's long rope of hair) so that it won't get in the way, if that is what his master wishes.

When his hair is out of the way, his back is a most interesting sight. On his back is what appears to be an intricate tattoo of two broken, bloody wings. The picture looks too intricate and detailed to be a tattoo, however. Some masters swear that when they touch it, it feels like real feathers and blood, although their hands never come away smeared with red.

Clothing: In the way of clothing, Hanerisu almost always wears a Greek-style sleeveless white tunic (you know, the kind that goes down to the knees). If not the tunic, then his hair substitutes as clothing until his tunic is ready again.

Background: Hanerisu used to be a Tenshi (Angel) called Haneyoukou. Not just any Tenshi, but a high ranking one, almost ready to become a member of the illustrious Council Shiroi (White Council. Can you tell I'm just making this up as I go along? ^_^). However, he was in love. This might not have been so bad if his lover weren't an Akuma (Demon).

Tenshi are strictly forbidden from having any sort of relations with Akuma, unless for business. Haneyoukou met his Akuma lover, Kekkon, on business, but somewhere along the line, the meeting turned to romance. For over a century, Haneyoukou and Kekkon continued their relationship in secret until they were finally found out. Kekkon managed to escape but Haneyoukou was put on trial by the Council Shiroi. He was sentenced to the rest of his imortality as a slave in that awful place on Earth known as The Palace.

He was re-named Hanerisu and cast out of Ten (Heaven) with a mighty crack of lightning and landed near The Palace, unconcious. Palace workers found him with two small cards strung into his hair. The first card read "A gift from above. Use him however you see fit." The second card was filled with all the vital statistics they would need to know about him (except the whole Tenshi thing), including the fact that he only spoke Japanese. They also noticed the broken wings design on his back (which was now in the place his wings used to occupy), but didn't think much of it at first.

Hanerisu eventually became the Nadir Key after completing his training. He still only spoke Japanese for the most part, but he was taught to say, "Yes Master" in English and a few other languages. That is about the only phrase he ever uses around masters.

Short Description of Kekkon-
Name Means: Bloodstain
Age: Looks 18, but is immortal, so you can't really tell
Appearance: Shoulder-blade length blood-red hair. Sinewy build. Rather tall. Black bat-like wings protruding from his back when he chooses to show them.
Background: After his relationship with Haneyoukou was discovered, Kekkon fled to a remote location on Earth (Siberia). Since he is an Akuma, it is difficult for him to feel guilt, thus it took him five whole days to feel guilty about leaving his lover to be punished. From his underground sources, he learned of Hanerisu's sentence to eternity as a Key, and immediatly set off for The Palace. There, he 'took care of' a Palace servant and took his place. He set a spell over the place, to make everyone think he actually was the missing servant. Now, he does duties around the Palace, and tries to visit the Nadir Room that holds his beloved as often as possible (which is still not often).

Personality: During training as a Key, Hanerisu appeared to drop quite low in the personality department, becoming distant and emotionless. This was because Hanerisu vowed that Kekkon would be the only one he would ever truly love and show emotion for. And so he keeps all emotions, positive and negative, bottled up inside. His calm way of doing things would almost make you think him to be a robot of sorts. He acts the same way for all people, whether they are kind or cruel. He claims that he likes it that way. His emotions never surface unless one of two things occur: either he is alone, or Kekkon manages to visit him.

In bed, Hanerisu is always submissive. No questions asked. It's as if the concept of being dominant is foreign to him. He can also take whatever pain is thrown at him without uttering a sound. This leads some to believe that he can't feel pain. Oh, he can feel pain all right. In fact, it's amplified for him to ten times more than what a normal person feels (part of his sentence). But again, he vowed never to show emotion in front of anyone outside himself and Kekkon. None of his screams of agony and cries of sorrow come until he is alone and without a master, or if Kekkon is with him.

Experience: So far, his experience as a Key has lasted about 7 years. Though his key is expensive (as all keys are), in comparison to other keys, his is considerably lower-priced. This is due to the fact that he shows little to no emotion during anything he's put through, which was a turn-off for some. Such a low price now tends to bring in more riff-raff type masters with less to spend, and stingy people not wanting to waste more money than they have to on a whore. Though sometimes, he is marketed to those who aren't sure about The Palace and its services. Since he is so non-threatening and obedient, he tends to make these beginners more at ease with The Palace, and make them want to explore more.

Likes/Dislikes: Despite being like an emotionless drone most of the time, Hanerisu does have a few hobbies. One of his favorite pastimes is playing with his hair, in an artistic manner. He loves braiding and tying it into intricate pictures, and then watching his work come undone gracefully after finishing. He usually does this after a master has had his/her way with him. Another of his activites is reading non-fiction books. He takes in the information, learning as much about Earth as he can through facts and science. His favored topic of books are those of astronomy and astrology, as they remind him of his old home in Ten the most. Not many people get to see Hanerisu engaged in any of his favorite pastimes, as he prefers to do them alone.

Sometimes, when Kekkon is hiding out in the room while a master is present, Kekkon's presence affects Hanerisu's actions. In other words, it makes him act in ways he normally wouldn't. For instance, when Kekkon is around, Hanerisu is sometimes prone to purposely annoying his master by speaking in Japanese, so that he/she can't understand a word he says. Later, Kekkon and Hanerisu usually laugh about whatever Hanerisu did.

As for dislikes... he dislikes his sentence and overly-cruel masters, but that's about it. Negative emotions take more energy than others, so he doesn't bother much with his dislikes.

Room: A five-room suite (one of the rooms being a bathroom), each room having a definite theme. The first has a very low ceiling (almost touches the head of an average sized person. Tall people have to bend over.) The walls have a sort of earthy brown wallpaper with green root designs to give a sense of being underground. *Note: one of the meanings of the word nadir is "the lowest point." That certainly makes sense for this room! ^_^* The best way to be comfortable in the room is to sit or lay down, so as not to hit your head or strain your neck. The room is populated with two small dark green armchairs, low mahogany coffee table, small fireplace, large globe, and a small bookcase full of (non-fiction) books. The room's purpose is basically to act as a study, and as an introduction to the "themed-ness" of the other rooms.

The second room (going from the left hand door of the first room) is the kitchen/dining room. The ceiling is still as low as the first, but it is easier to hit your head, as the ceiling is made of glass and is hard to see. In fact, the whole room is made of glass (except for the floor and the wall with the door on it). The sky and the desert below can be seen beautifully from here, and it's like eating outside for every meal. The motif for the one regular wall and the floor is bright and sunny, with different shades of yellows and white. The table is white with gold trim and a sky blue table cloth with gold tassels on the corners. The chairs are made of a sort of marigold-colored wood.

The third room (accessed from the right hand door of the first room) is decidedly weird. The walls are splashed with colors and spread in such a way it looks like a group of kindergarteners had a field day with finger paint. The ceiling is extremely high, unlike the first two rooms. The floor is all bouncy, springy, and rainbow-colored, like in a child's bounce house at paries. All the furniture is in odd shapes and is stuck to the floor so that it doesn't bounce or fall over (Picasso-style chairs, half of a white leather couch, pillows in the shape of giant purple peaches, etc. use your imagination.) In the middle of the room is the crowning glory: a giant slide full of twisty turns, dead ends, holes that fall out onto the bouncy floor, and a bunny running rampant in the tubes. Not even Hanerisu knows why this room exists. It's very possible the designer put it in for her own personal pleasure, and not for its usefullness.

The fourth room (accessed from the third room) is the room where the most action happens: the bedroom. The ceiling is about the height of that in a more normal room. Everything in the room is black. The walls are black, the ceiling is black, the sheets, blankets, pillows, and bed curtains are black, the cupboard housing all the sex toys is black (except inside. the spaces behind the toys are white so you can see which one is which), the carpet is black, etc. Speaking of the floor, there is a cylinder in the side of one wall that lets in a constant stream of fog machine fog that hugs the floor (the maximum height it gets to is about five inches). Everything is lit by soft glowing lamps placed in strategic locations around the room. They light up the fog, giving it an eerily beautiful appearance. They also light up Hanerisu's light-colored form, and in the fog, it makes him look even more unreal than he is.

And connecting to the bedroom is the bathroom, which is the final room. It looks like any bathroom in a modern suburban house. Grayish-white tiles, plain white bathtub (does have bubbling and jet functions however), standard sink, medicine cabinet, white towles with P for "Palace" on them. After seeing the rest of the suite, the bathroom is so normal, it's scary...
