Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

Destina Fortunato is universally excellent. Check out "The Seventh Wave."

torch is another favorite. Check out "Crystallize."

Lilith Sedai. Ditto. Check out the Elements series.

Siubhan's Obi-Wan/Maul stories. Rowr.

Halrloprillalar is either a genius or the devil, or possibly both. Her site is currently down.

Exiles Universe by Kass and Kate. What if Qui-Gon had survived--and Anakin fell anyway? This is a full and very real portrayal of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's life on Tatooine. (Q/O)

JAOA by Black Rose. A fascinating, detailed AU.

Need, by Laura JV. heh. heh. heh.

The Sith Academy. It's a sort of communal humor AU... 160+ stories of Sith in duress, Jedi in drag, and Tauntans with strong maternal instincts. Check it out.

Star Wars: Trilogy

I'm just going to recommend the entire Elusive Lover site.  Don't make me choose. (Han/Luke)

Sentinel:

Spyke-Raven is a new and most excellent Sentinel writer.

Kass is a big bundle of goodness.

Likewise Anna S.

The Winter's Heart, by Brighid. A unique first-time story interwoven with a fairy tale.

Everything You Need in One Convenient Location, by Julad. Set early in the show and done very well.

Cascade Olympiad, by Corbeau. Ass-kicking Blair. Lots of affection. Endearments that didn't make me wince. A fabulous pursuit. Boinking! (J/B)

A Tepid Apocalypse, by Molly. Full of beautiful language. (J/B)

Nuance, by Livia and Resonant. Purr. (J/B)

Beyond the End, by Katrina Bowen. AU. What if Blair met Jim in the jungle? Mew. Mew. Purr. (J/B)

Cosmic Irony and Karmic Justice, by Meredith Lynne. I simply enjoy reading these stories. (J/B)

Days Like These, by Meredith Lynne. Not a first-time story. I love the image of Blair hiding out in bed, only his curls showing. Jim and Captain Voyeur try to get Blair out of bed. (J/B)

The Fool, by J M Griffin. This story makes an interesting case for Blair as the Fool in the classic sense, stepping off the cliff to see what lies at the bottom. (J/B)

Into the Woods, Out of the Woods, Home Before Dark, by Kass. Jim has a painful secret in his past. Yeah, another one, poor guy. Impeccable characterization, hot sex, h/c and a command of the delicate art of writing a character who doesn't like talking. (J/B)

Letting the Record Speak, by Rhipodon Society. Very short and very powerful post-dissertation story, with well-chosen lyrics. Wow. (gen)

Little Boy Lost, by Laura JV. I love her Blair. In this story, Blair gets mad, and rightfully so. Go read her other stories, they're all quite unlike stereotypical Sentinel fic. (J/B)

The Longest Walk, by Emily Brunson. AU, h/c, incredibly powerful. Jim is injured and must fight his way back to some kind of health. (J/B)

The Nature Series by Francesca. Classic. And the rest of her stuff is fabulous as well... (J/B)

One of These Nights, by Thomas. This is the first Sentinel story I ever read, and probably the reason I kept reading them. To summarize would be to spoil... (J/B)

Other Kinds of Things, by heleninhell. This story is adorable. Read it to have a good day. And check out the rest of her page while you're at it! (J/B)

Partners, by Josephine Darcy. Blair is borrowed for the day. Eventually, a lion is involved. And a hand grenade. Is anyone surprised? (J/B)

Pictures of the Past, by Adoratrice. Wow. Blair loses his memory... but it's not a plot device, and the fallout is very real. (J/B)

Primal Urges, by Kim Gasper. Another Jim-and-Blair-in-the-jungle AU. And you can read her other stories while you're there; she's really good. (J/B)

Prison, by Jack Reuben Darcy. AU. What if Jim met Blair in Singapore in 1937? The texture of this story is extraordinary. (J/B)

R U There? by Kit Mason. It's long and fun with a tasty sprinkling of angst. Jim seems kind of forlorn, poor baby. Netizens will see themselves in this fic. (J/B)

Rules of Attraction, by spiderine. Blair gets his witch doctorate! Very, very funny, as well as wonderfully characterized and detailed. I had my doubts about the premise, but they were gone by the middle of the first story. (J/B)

Solitary Creatures by Aristide. "Sandburg had settled himself on the other end of the couch with his best 'speak to me O Sentinel, my Sentinel' look on his face." The characterization here is just fantastic. (J/B)

Sound of Silence, by Mysti Frank. An interesting AU in which Blair has become deaf. I really want more of these stories, but the page is no longer being updated. (J/B)

Spare Tire, by Pares. Blair works out... Damn but this is funny. The characterization is great and she has some brilliant lines. This is from the middle of the series--be sure to check out the rest of her stories. (J/B)

Switched Men, Stormed by Cynara. An AU series where our heroes have each other's professions.

Tummy Trouble, by JA Chapman. hee hee hee. (J/B)

Wine, Women and Schlong, by Brighid. Both sweet and charming without being sticky or trivial. Blair finds out that he and Jim have been "together" for quite some time without either of them knowing. (J/B)

Virtual Season Five. (Faux Paws) A fan-produced fifth season.  It's a satisfying read. I recommend going to the archives and reading all the episodes from the beginning. And don't skip the commercials! (gen)

Cascade Virtual Tales. (Black Panther) ...another one. Warning: embedded sound and other unpleasantness. (gen)

Highlander:

All unlinked Highlander stories are located at the Seventh Dimension Highlander Archive. The archivist has asked that we not link directly and I am nothing if not polite.

Kat Allison. Mm.

Meredith Lynne. Yeah. Especially check out "Last Call," a story that gets us from the first movie to the series.

Sylvia Volk. She writes amazing, detailed and thoroughly researched historical fiction featuring Methos. Especially read "Millenium."(gen/adult)

Futures Without End. This is a series of print zines put online. Excellent authors, excellent stories, excellent editing... just beautiful all around. (D/M)

Better Beer, by Debra Fran Baker. Well *I* like this a lot... not least because it was written for my birthday, about one of my favorite rare pairings. woo! (Joe/Methos)

Consent of the Twain, by Aristide. Oh my goodness gracious... (D/M/A)

Cool Water, by Fenris. Duncan... Methos... a hike... a stream... a couple of sweaty guys doing what comes naturally... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. (D/M)

Days Falling Backward, by Rachael Sabotini. medic. (D/M)

Dead Weight, by Killashandra. Mac overindulges. Methos helps him back home. This story is... nice. Quiet and sweet. (D/M)

An Exercise in Memory, by Kim Gasper. A long and satisfying early history of Methos.

From This Day Forward, by Riley Cannon. A perfectly characterized first-time story based on the episode "Till Death." (D/M)

Gift of the Raven, by Killashandra. Lovely. Angsty. First-time. Gorgeous illustrations. (D/M)

Hay Fever, by Torch. The only other Cory Raines/Duncan MacLeod story in existence, as far as I know.

Heat Goes to Cold, by Amand-r. The other reason that second person voice exists. I bow down in worship for the brilliance of this story. (gen)

Hope Chest, by elynross. It's sweet, it's perfect. It's a story about old loves and new. (D/M)

Hush, by Ladonna King. A sad and intriguing origin fic. With a baby. But not an irritating baby! (D/M)

Rite of Fire, by Andie P. This story has the tidiest explanation of how Adam Pierson came out of the Immortal closet that I've ever seen. (D/M, sort of...)

Revenant, by MacGeorge and Rachael Sabotini. Something crawls out of Mac's past... it was a WIP, but is now finished! Faboo illustrations. (D/M)

The Seduction of the Desert Prince, by the Krell. Methos buys Mac as a slave! This is such fun. Pure bodice-ripper (or codpiece-ripper, quoth the anonymous slasher), but with a rich texture and detail that make it a joy to read. It's a WIP, but I think that's a good thing; it hangs in the air like a ripe fruit falling from a tree. (D/M)

The Shadow of the Sword, by Cio-cio-san. Damn. I wish I could write like this. (D/M)

X-Files

Spike is damn good.

Josan is damn good.

A. Leigh-Anne Childe is so good she makes me spit.

JiM, well, you probably already knew that, but I'm telling you anyway. Excellent.

Halrloprillalar writes X-Files too. Her site is currently down.

Likewise Torch.

Echo Lane, by Louise Wu. A long sort-of AU. (M/K)

The Pencils series, by MJ. This rocks my socks. Especially the interludes. (M/Sk)

Wild Justice and Divine Retribution, by MJ Lee. Gorgeous, long, savage stories. (M/K and Sk/K)

Good Omens:

And When He Falls, by torch.
*waves hand.* You didn't really see this. Carry on.

Action:

Fire and Ice, by Valeria. 'Kay. If you've seen this show, you know what episode it's about. This story perfectly captures the tone of the show. I love it. (got that URL back)

Iron Chef:

It's not too late. You have a choice... you can choose not to click on this link.
Battle Flower Bud, by Spike.
SAVE YOURSELF. RUN AWAY NOW!
note: Spike's written more Iron Chef slash. Check out "Battle Rat" on her page.

Addams Family:

Welcome Home by Laura Jacquez Valentine. Grin.

Invisible Man:

Lucy Hale is very prolific and very good. link will be restored later

Hard Core Logo:

new I'm exceedingly fond of Amy B's Lost Horizons series. Her Billy is softer than my ideal, but the stories are strong and compelling and I've found myself more than once rereading them all.

new Xeriscape by Kat Allison is on everyone's recs page for a reason. Desperately bitter. Bitterly desperate.

Catmoran is doing great stuff in a number of fandoms (she's the first person I know of to write Memento slash), but I especially like her HCL.

Crossovers:

Making a Mark, by Andromeda Girl. This story has a lot of elements that I don't like, and yet I like the story. That means it's good. The pairing is Methos/Kowalski. (Highlander/Due South)

Afterimages, by rac. From the Wounded Heroes zine. (Highlander/X-files) (warning: large cover image)

China by torch. What is it about Methos and Mulder? They just fit. This story has the feel of a really good X-Files episode. And I can't seem to get it out of my head. The setting is so vivid! (Highlander/X-Files)
(WARNING: this story contains really weird but startlingly tasty-sounding sandwich ideas.)

(Seventh Dimension) Everything Dies I: The Hit and II: The Deal, by Ladonna King. Krycek vs Kronos. A sleek and vicious story. (Highlander/X-Files)

A Few Highlights From My Very Favorite Imaginary Show, by Mairead Triste. Jesus Roosevelt Christ. A crossover between Iron Chef and Hard Core Logo. I've never seen Hard Core Logo, but this had me on the FLOOR. You definitely have to know Iron Chef to understand the jokes, though. (What gets me is that my roomie made the same crack about Ishihara the other day... deranged minds think alike.)

The Highlander's Guide to Hitchhiking in the Star Wars Universe: the Crossover Menace, by Sleeps With Coyotes and HiperBunny. Need I say more? And good god-- there's a sequel! (x-over every which way)

If I Should Fall From Grace With God, by Ladonna King. A wee story featuring the world's best description of Mulder. (Highlander/X-Files)

Kindred Spirits, by Sarah. A blatant plot device brings Methos to Cascade. But it's okay, because this story is great fun. (Highlander/Sentinel)

Little Lost Fox, by A. Leigh-Anne Childe and its prequel by Te and Spike. It's... it's what I want to be when I grow up. But read the disclaimers, 'kay? (X-Files/Star Trek)

Mermaids Singing, by Lyrica. *happy goodfic sigh* (Sentinel/X-Files)

(Seventh Dimension) Mystery Highlander Theater 3000, by Kirsten Beall. Words cannot express how happy I am that this exists. (Highlander/MST3K)

Rapture Series, by Wombat. When the rumpled Agent met the world's oldest man for the first time, it was innocent and sweet. The second time, it got complicated. Really complicated. Of course. This series managed to enthrall me through a massive tension headache. Read it! (Highlander/X-Files) (warning: this links to a large cover graphic)

something wicked by torch. A small, HOT pwp... (Highlander/X-Files)
